Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 1, 2026. This policy explains what information Kaufman Labs collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you submit an eligibility form or contact us, we collect your first and last name, email address, and phone number. If you choose to share it during pre-screening, we may also collect basic health-interest information — for example the general research area you are interested in, your age range, or whether you have a condition relevant to a study's general criteria.
Consent records. We record which consent checkboxes you selected, along with the date and time, so we can honor your communication preferences.
Technical information. Like most websites, we may automatically receive your IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and pages viewed.
We do not intentionally collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it.
2. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- determine which enrolling studies may be a general match for you;
- contact you by phone, email, or text about the studies and your screening;
- pass your details to the research site handling your pre-screening, with your knowledge;
- respond to your questions and requests;
- maintain records of consent and comply with legal obligations;
- keep the site secure and improve how it works.
3. Mobile opt-in and text messaging data
Mobile opt-in information and consent are treated as confidential. We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number or SMS opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Your number is used only to communicate with you about research opportunities and, if you separately opted in, Kaufman Labs promotions. We may share it with the messaging vendors that deliver texts on our behalf, strictly to send those messages. You can stop texts at any time by replying STOP, or reply HELP for assistance. See our Terms of Service for full SMS terms.
4. When we disclose information
We share information with the research sites and study coordinators handling your screening, and with service providers who operate our site, email, and messaging systems under confidentiality obligations. We may also disclose information when required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights and safety of participants and others.
If Kaufman Labs is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may transfer as part of that transaction; we will notify you of any change in ownership or use of your information.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Cookies and tracking
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep the site functioning, remember basic preferences, and understand aggregate traffic patterns. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings; parts of the site may work less well if you do. We honor Global Privacy Control and similar browser-level opt-out signals where required by law.
6. Data retention and security
We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes described here or as required by law, then delete or de-identify it.
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards — including encrypted transmission and access controls — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, request correction or deletion, opt out of marketing communications, and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. California residents have these rights under the CCPA/CPRA.
To exercise any of them, email info@kaufmanlabs.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. You can unsubscribe from emails using the link in any message, and stop texts by replying STOP.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted, and we will update the "Last updated" date above. Please review this page periodically.
